I've never met anyone who is both atheist and homophobic. Not to say that these people don't exist, but I reckon it's a lot less common. Maybe atheists (or agnostics, or anyone who doesn't follow a definite religion, like myself) are more likely to be open-minded? Just a thought.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not saying that ALL religious people are closed-minded either.)
