I wouldn't say so. I think it's more like women are more comfortable with being closer to each other than men are. If a girl was to go to the mall with her arms linked with another woman, no one would look twice. But if 2 guys went to the mall with their arms linked, they'd get laughed at. I think women are just naturally more affectionate with each other than men are.
