Transsexual + Making a bank account?

So, I was thinking of opening a bank account...but the problem is I don't want to carry around a card that has my legal name on it. Like, if I drop my wallet and someone looks at it. I was wondering if you can get your preferred name on your credit card, or any of your banking information without having your legal name yet changed.

I also don't want to have something haunting me around knowing if someone see's that they'll be wondering why I have that card. I'd get really paranoid carrying it around...

What should I do? I wanted to start a bank account to securely hold my money and use it when I need it instead of going out to the store all the time to reload/get a new pre-paid online card. Should I talk to the banker or person who will help me set my account up?
