Default Will anal bleeding complicate sex?

Thought I'd get straight to the point with the title. I'm an 18 year old gay guy btw.

So about 2 years about, my parents went through a really rough separation and divorce as a result of an affair; cops were involved, a drug test, it got bad. It lasted nearly a year and a half. Over the course of this time, I was also struggling with accepting my sexuality while all this was going on, and with it being my junior year of high school, I was already significantly stressed with everything college related going on. Back on topic, during all this, I felt so alone, it was awful. I had no where to turn. I talked to my sister about the divorce since shes a few years older, but never the fact that I'm gay, cause it would take until recently for me to come to terms with that myself. So I thought I could deal with all of this, but some rather odd physical side-effect started occurring. I began to bleed out of my ass after every time I took a shit, like significantly. I eventually turned to my tense parents during all of this because I couldn't take the fear that there was something seriously wrong with me. The doctor said it was the result of hard stool and put me on like 3 different kinds of stool softeners until i was shitting out liquid for 2 months...Yeah, not pretty.

So that seemed to pass...But I've noticed that now, whenever I get really, like severely stressed, it happens again! Like what the fuck? It eventually goes away...but still And now that I'm...well not out, but going to be soon, I'm kind of worried if this will complicate anal sex...Anyone have to deal with this or anything similar?

Since I assume you are bottoming, or intend to, I would say yes. Losing your virginity would likely be a stressful event for you, which could trigger this to occur. But if it only occurs after you take a large defecate, then maybe if you do it well before you have sex, all vessels in the anus will heal. But, and this is a big but (haha), you will definitely need plenty of lube and most likely need whoever you are dating to prep you very well (being able to fit three fingers is usually where I see fit to start having him work his penis in). I'd also advise you to take a few tylenol (and maybe an anti-diarrhea medication), before sex, as that will help you loosen up.

However, I believe that if you talked to your doctor again, this time explaining a connection to your stress level, you could probably get a better diagnosis, which could end up with you eventually overcoming this. It may be IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, however your gastroenterologist will be able to diagnose much better than I can.

Given your symptoms, you should probably see a gastroenterologist. The question is whether you have a chronic condition like irritable bowel syndrome or whether you are just prone to stress-induced enterocolitis.

Once you determine this, you'll have a better idea of the severity of your condition and what you need to do to limit your symptoms so that you can have anal sex wtihout worry.

Have you asked for a colonoscopy?

If not, you really should.

OP here.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll probably just mention it at my next doctors appointment that it's something I'm concerned about. I don't really plan on having sex anytime soon so I think I'll be okay. As for the colonoscopy, no i've never had one but my doctor did check with his fingers when I first told him...kinda liked that part
