Flirting?

All of my friends say I am a major flirt around this one particular girl, my question is what counts as flirting...Idk the first thing about flirting!(I am such a dummy!)

Flirting is any conversation - usually lighthearted - with an aim towards ingratiating yourself with somebody. It doesn't necessarily have to have a sexual overtone, although if it does, it certainly helps with the "flirting" tag.

The thing is - my friends in college used to tease me about flirting with somebody. I kept insisting I wasn't flirting with her (y'know, because she's female and all), but they insisted our conversations were flirtatious. They may have appeared so, but I certainly never meant them to be taken as such.

Like, I don't get it how do I recognize that I am flirting? I mean I like this girl, and she likes me, but I never thought I was flirting with her.

You ever say something that offended somebody without realizing it, and without intending to? It's the same idea. Sometimes, things you say can be taken as "flirting" even if that's not what you're intending.
