As soon as I get a job to pay for sessions i'm gonna go check out the gender therapist in town... I have no idea what therapy is like, especially with a gender therapist.

It kind of depends really. Different therapists have different styles even if they use the same approach to treatment for the same issue or situation.

And you're experience is going to vary not only with how good they are and what their style of treatment is but also probably just how much report you have with them or in other words how well you guys get along and respect each other.

You're probably in some way going to get assessed first and you're therapist will probably want to spend a session or two more or less attempting to get to know you, learn who you are where you're coming from and what things you are wanting to deal with.

My therapist will talk with me about anything I feel is worth discussing pretty much but with respect to gender identity issues it's mostly just helping me figure out how best for me to transition and helping me cope with some of the stresses that can come with it.
