| Posting Anonymously Posts: 51,981 Join Date: Dec 2007 | Yeah, getting sick of being chunky and stuff and I really wanna tone up. ![]() Is there any methods or tips about doing exercise or losing weight using minimal exercising equipment and actually leaving the house? Like stuff to do when nobody's home, at home. I'm probably asking for too much, but y'know... Also, what kind of exercises should I do to make butt smaller? LOL! :P But it's so big and unproportioned to my body that I look sorta fine from the the front and once you see me at the side or the back, it really stands out and it makes me SO self-conscious. So yeah... anything that can help, I'm willing to do it! P.S May I just remind y'all again - Exercises AT home WITHOUT equipment! ![]() Thanks! |

| Guest | Well I'm not having that, sorry. A great friend of mine lost loads of weight in only 2 months by simply riding his bike everyday during the summer holidays. I didn't even recognise him when school started again, it was incredible. If you really can't be asked to ride a bike, then buy a sit-up bar. ![]() It costs next to nothing, I bought one for £7.99 today but you can find them cheaper on eBay. You simply clip it under your door and you can do loads of different exercises. And quit eating between meals. ![]() |

I'm trying to shed a few pounds as well at the moment and find that walking everywhere rather than using public transport is working wonders. As JSG also said cycling is good too. Walking will also help with reducing the size of your posterior as will things like squats. There are quite a few things that you can also do in private if you're not too keen on letting the world know you want to loose weight. I lock myself in my room at night and try and do sit ups and press ups. start off small, 10/20 of each and slowly increase the number when you feel ready. None of these things are too strenuous and you will start to see the effects in mere weeks. Good luck!

| Posting Anonymously Posts: 51,981 Join Date: Dec 2007 | ( I suck at quoting so I'll just go down the list) Lol! Yeah, I suppose I should actually go outside and stuff, but long story short, it ain't possible for me here, and, I'm too embarrassed to mention anything about exercising/weight loss to anyone. >_< I walk halfway to school and back (I get a bus ride the other half, since the school is pretty far but the bus that goes directly to school comes either too early or too late). I love bike riding though, perhaps that's something I can do for next summer out of this area... something dad suggested we could do last summer instead of me playing video games all day >_> DDR's not an option... don't have it anymore! I tried using it as a method but I couldn't stay interested in it enough, I strived to get the grades rather than the exercise! :P I got tired of it soon enough. Running > same reason I can't ride a bike. :P I've also tried the pressups... but I didn't feel I did enough or that I did them properly, so I gave up in the end. I lack dedication when I don't see any change, but I'm willing to start now in time for college...! I have an opportunity to do exercise quietly on my own every day, so yeah... Thanks for the advice guys... I suppose I'll just go old skewl and do sit ups in my room or something. ![]() |

| Posting Anonymously Posts: 51,981 Join Date: Dec 2007 | If you can do 10 regulation pullups that's damn good. I'm a soldier and I can only ge about 5 or 6 before i'm unable to do anymore ![]() But in all seriousness, eating right can help, try to portion your meals right, don't drink soda, dont' eat candy, etc.. Just eat 3 regular meals, and keep the portions smaller than normal. Cardio is the best/and fastest way to lose weight, so running or bike riding is the way to go. And not just biking around, go fast so your heart rate really climbs up. |

I think the important thing is to write down a program and stick to it.Like a contract with yourself.Achievable goals. It sounds like such a good idea that I'm going to do it as soon as I post this. ![]() |

Anyway, if you want to lose weight and you're concerned about the size and/or shape of your butt, you need cardio. It's good to tone and build muscle too but you're not going to lose very much fat that way. So, increase calories out and decrease calories in... no one here has mentioned jumping rope yet... I believe that's pretty intense cardio and hopefully a jump rope is not really "equipment." Just remember for cardio to be effective you need to elevate your heart rate and keep it elevated for at least 20 minutes. So yeah, jumping rope, fast-paced walking, running, biking... swimming is great but kinda hard to do in private unless you happen to be near a secluded river/lake/ocean or have your own pool. And... as for reducing calories in, just stop drinking any sweetened drinks, like pop, fruit punches, Snapple, etc. That's one I'm still working on but those things are just completely empty calories. Even considering the amount of real, 100% fruit and/or vegetable juices you consume is a good idea. One thing I've noticed is that I tend to eat what I buy for groceries, so really what you want to do is make sure your place has plenty healthy foods and snacks and very little or no unhealthy stuff. If you don't do the shopping (you don't mention how old you are or what your living situation is) trying asking the household provider to buy healthy stuff (if there isn't much around). Skim milk or light soy milk instead of whole milk. Oh and peanut butter (the real kind with just peanuts or peanuts and salt, none of that Skippy crap) is really good for you but it has a ton of calories, and jam is just pretty much candy. We have these triple fruit spreads here that have like 1/3 less calories than jam but no artificial sweetners or anything so I just get that if I want something on my toast/bread. And bread is pretty high in calories so don't go crazy with it. Something someone told me the other day is that hummus is really good in terms of a filling, low calorie food. That's chickpeas and garlic and lemon juice spread if you're not familiar with it. Stuff that is high in protein is worth checking out just because protein has less calories per gram than fat. Sorry if this is a little rambly... good luck and keep us posted! | |

Be sure to do some stretchings to warm your body up But best way to lose weight would be running. These sites have some useful informations, you might wanna check it too http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/ http://www.iwantsixpackabs.com/

| Posting Anonymously Posts: 51,981 Join Date: Dec 2007 | Again, thanks for all the replies... As for running, I'm gonna see where I can go with that. I've been thinking about it so... And would running on the spot be just as good? Would it effect my joints or is it completely safe? (since I've heard running up and down the stairs is hard for the joints...) |

| Posting Anonymously Posts: 51,981 Join Date: Dec 2007 | Don't buy anything, don't buy the newest contraption, or drink, or bar, or snack, or vacuum packed food. 1) Eat right. 2) Exercise. It's a great two step program, with excellent results. It doesn't have to be hard either. Walk or ride your bike to school, go to the mall, shop (and exercise while you're at it!). Eating right doesn't mean eating rabbit food - I've been trying to eat healthier. It means grabbing a V8-Go instead of a coffee in the morning. Skipping McD's at lunch - going for a bagel. There are no easy solutions to weight loss, don't buy the gimmicks. Good luck! |
