Default Are these thoughts worrying?

If it's only the occasional thought about suicide, and I know I definitely would never do it, then is that a problem? And should I be worried about a recurrent desire to self harm, if I've never cut myself and wouldn't do that either because I wouldn't be able to hide it and don't like pain?

I sure hope not, cause I have the exact same thoughts. Occasional suicidal thoughts, but knowing I would never have the balls to do actually do it (and loving life way too much), and to a lesser extent self harm. So at least you're definitely not the only one. I can't really say if it's normal/worrying, though.. I've been asking myself the same thing.

Why would you want to kill yourself? What are the reasons behind it? Do you feel sad or angry when you're thinking about it?

I can't walk over a bridge without thinking about jumping. & these are big city bridges, and I don't know how to swim! However, I never think about it in a suicidal way. It's just a weird curiosity, completely unconnected to any of my problems. I've never considered the thoughts a danger to myself.

You should be worried if these thoughts are connected to any problem, or if you're thinking about it in an emotional state. If it's just a random thought, and you're not thinking about it in a serious manner, I wouldn't worry about it.
