I see several of you are making good use of the blogs and galleries now. Us mods can check out any newly uploaded photos and tick them off as OK, and so far they have all been fine. So I know some good photos are going into galleries. :icon_bigg

But of course nobody else here does. What good is a gallery and blog, if people don't see it?

So don't be shy - if you have a gallery or blog, tell us about it so we can all go and have a look! And if you add something, tell us again! :eusa_danc :thumbsup:

There seems to be two standard types of photo on online things like this, the mirror photo and the outstretched arm(s) photo! Yours is the latter! Nothing wrong with that of course - it just makes me smile when I see either of these types of self-taken photos. :thumbsup: :lol:

Yes, your webcam shot is far too good!

It is a but blurred which is what we expect, but it is light and the colour balance is too natural. Make it darker and more red, then reduce it to half the size and it'll be about right. If you can make it look grainy too, that would be even better! :) :)

Actually yours is more like the one-arm-outstretched style.

Hey everyone....i was just looking at the different blogs and it i thought this might help...some people have psted they have put up blog entries but when i go to their pages it says theres a blog entry but its not appearing on the blog screen...i think what might be happening is that you guys are saving it to the drafts folder cos i had the same problem when i started....what you have to do is create a new folder, how it shows in the manual thing, and then put the blogs in that folder not the drafts folder...otherwise if you put it in the drafts folder it'll say you have a blog entry but no one will be able to see this....im not completely sure this is the problem or it might just be my computer stuffin up but if im right i think it was Half-Light and Ampthejazz who had the problem.....and also i completely agree, ampthejazz's gallery is heaps good, not only of Steve Sandvoss, Ampthejazz has heaps nice eyes as well!!!!

Making your first Blog[/COLOR]


Step 1: Creating a folder
To make your first blog, ensure that the "Blog Page" option has been enabled in the "Edit Homepage Settings" Page.

In order to create a blog you must select Edit Blog Categories from the Control pane. Here you can create a new folder for your blogs. In the below image I am creating a Folder titled My Expressions.

Once you have created your folder you can make your first blog.


Step 2: Making the blog

Go into the "Create Blog Entry" page. Creating a blog is much like creating a new thread or post on the forums.

One difference is that you must decide which "Category" or folder you want to save your blog in. This is so you can have different themes/topics sorted into different sections.

From the Category list, choose the folder title you just made. For me, it was "My Expressions". From here, you can create your blog exactly how you would create a post or thread! Clicking "submit message" will save your blog to your homepage.

NOTE: Saving your blog into the Category: Drafts will make it invisible to everyone other than you. This is so you can save a blog half way through

How come it tackes so much editing befor it will let you upload the pictures. I had to do all kinds of resizing for my pics b4 it finaly accepted them.

There are limits on these, but they should be plenty big enough for displaying images on screen. Photos from a digital camera may need to be resized, though ones from a phone camera or webcam should be OK as they are.

well, at first I thought it was the file size, but I resized it and it didn't wonrk. I brought it down to 92kb and it still didnt work. I had keep resizing all my pics untill it took them.

Yes, they have to be no more than 1000 pixels high and 1000 pixels, or they won't be accepted. File size is 250k maximum, which should be ample.

I can change the limits if they are a problem, but I think they are big enough really.

In fact it is better if they are no more than about 660 pixels wide otherwise they get squashed when displayed.

I think the size limits are perfectly fine the way they are ^^ If the pictures you're posting were from a digital camera, chances are you'd have to edit them before you do anything with them, heh. The camera I used to post my pics, for example, I had to reduce their size to 25% just to make them not take up the whole screen!

They are for a website that im making for design, so one of them is me with eyeliner, which is how im gunna have the Joker look in my website....maybe i shoud just fill you in a bit.In design we are creating a website, I am making one that promotes a film based on the Joker, so i have to do promo photos for it, so i took some pics of my eye cos i thought it would look cool, then added eyeliner in photoshop and changed the colours to make it look cool....anyway i would appreciate it if people have time to just leave a comment saying if the eye liner effect looks cool or dumb...awesome thanx
