How to ask...

how would you ask someone out that you've known your entire life? i'm sure that they feel the same way, but i'm not sure. just a basic question of how to ask someone out: major flaw in basic plan: i've known this person LITERALLY all my life. i'm just not sure how to ask without weirding them out...

Little more background would be helpful. Out status of that person, whether they have interest. Etc

Don't ask him out on a date.
Invite him to spend some time with you.

Don't say, "Would you like to go out with me?"
Say, "Are you free Saturday? How about we go grab some dinner together, then maybe do some go-karting (or your favorite activity here)?"

k so that's bad advice. :D

just invite them to do something with you, alone. Something you both enjoy doing anyway, even if it's just a walk in the park or sitting in your bedroom talking. (well, maybe the bedroom's not the *best* place :p)

thanks for the advice. i think i might do that...in fact, the two of us are going to spend saturday watching the Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" playing...we heard about it at school.

no, he doesn't. and plus he's getting over a bad breakup...but he's ready to move on now, he thinks. and he keeps asking me, "hmm...do you know anyone who likes me?" (btw, i'm a girl (bi) so it won't be TOO awkward to ask him) and i want to yell at him, "hello???? sitting right next to you????" but i'm too scared.

yeah, i'm a wimp.

anyway, that's the gist. i don't know if he likes me or not...he keeps flirting in the textbook sense of the word but i don't know if it's because he likes me or because he feels comfortable because we've known each other for sixteen years (and counting).
