Hello there,
I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself to the Empty Closets community. As far as you can be concerned, my name is WW, I am seventeen, soon to be eighteen in June. I live in the lovely state of Maine, I love it here, but it seems that my corner of the world is not very accepting. In the past couple of years I have realized that I am gay, but I have yet to come out of the closet. I have been trying hard to change my lifestyle, but members of my family are homophobic. My Mum literally gags when she sees two men kiss, and my father tries to keep anything gay far from him. Out of everyone, my sister would be the most accepting, but she has such a big mouth that I could never talk to her about ANYTHING. My father has apparently had a suspicion of my sexuality because when he recently got remarried his new bride came right up to me and asked if I was one of “those silly little fags”... Of coarse I said no after I stammered a little. But since then she has thanked me several times for not being gay “just because.” I don’t know what that means, but apparently she thinks it would be horrible to have a gay stepson, I'm just glad I don’t live with them. For the time being I live with my mother but after June I will be both 18 and graduated, so I will be able to live my life with more ease. (Once I move to the college campus)
