HELP!!! Should we elect our judges

Well tomorow night i have a debate.... one problem i havent writen my debate... and i need some help... there is no info on this topic at all... could you please help? I am on the affirmitive team... so i would prefer it if you would tell me about the bennifits and reasons why we sould elect our judges rather than tell me why it is bad...

Mind you, being aware of potential bad points is good too, because you can prepare some potential rebuttals! And rebutting is what makes it a debate rather than a series of speeches.

judges have the power to hold peoples lives in their decisions.
in come cases even more powerful than politicians...

but you dont want people becoming judges for the publicity, and we may loose some really good judges if they dont get voted in...
