So I don't think there is a topic for this yet - and if there is please lock this and yell at me. :)

School is starting again and everyone is off to different places. What classes do you have this year?

I'm going into my first year in computing science at SFU.

My courses this semester are:
ENGL 101 - Called "introduction to fiction", so it's basically literature.
CMPT 128 - The condensed version of two programming courses, because I have a bit of experience. Basically C++, skipping learning with python.
MATH 150 - Good old first year calculus.
TECH 101 - I'm in a program called TechOne which is basically a technology introduction, and this is the first course in it. It's basically teaching you to write for university and stuff, because it's called teamwork and communication.

Ummm... my classes are

French 101: Normal intro french class, she walked in speaking french and spoke barely any English... not too much fun.
Biol 205: A biostatistics course. This one should be interesting, and I really like the professor, he's a nice fella.
Chem 201: Organic Chemistry! Yayyyyy! This one should be fun. The prof. is amazing, she won't let anybody fail if they try.
Hist 421: Traditions/Transformations; a study of Inuit culture. This one will be interesting. The prof is mental!
Assorted music classes like my flute lesson and wind ensemble rehearsal. And I have a lab I need to go to for O-chem.

I'm a bio major if you haven't figured it out.... (!)

Well, my dear North Americans, I only have a couple of months left (plus exams) with:

Unit 3+4 ("Year 12" (final year)):
Drama
French
History (Revolutions)
Japanese 2nd Language (ie there's a course for native speakers, which I am not)
Philosophy

I want to be in uni already; so sick of secondary school. *glares at local education system* Wish I could've had choices like anthropology, and also that I didn't have to wait until I was 17 to do things I could do at 12. Stupid inflexibility at my school. Grag.

Good luck everyone with your new school year!

Sociology (If this was taught by Dawn, I'd love it... but it's not so I'm bored.)

Spanish II (Soon to be Spanish I... apparently you forget things after 4 years and need a refreshing Spanish I class to remind you.)

Yoga (Because setting the world record for most audits on a single class is within my grasp.)

Psychology (Things happened and I failed this... so I'm retaking with Miss. Dawn... aka AMAZING TEACHER LADY!!!)

Last but not least... my favorite class...

Human Sexuality (This is taught by Miss. Dawn and it is fantastic. We are very open and it is highly educational. So found my dream job.)

yes yes yes I know... 13 hours is hardly anything to be bragging about taking BUT I'm also working full time which means I'm tired ALL the time... because I stay up on the interwebs instead of sleeping.

Level N Human
28th Aug 2008, 01:09 AM

My oh my your american system really confuses me :p !!!

I go back next Tuesday :( which means that I have to stop working now which is really sad. I love working and I have been with all my work people for like 5 days every week for quite a few months and I don't want to go back!!

Anyway.. back on topic, I think I will be doing:
Chemistry
Physics
Maths
and Art

But this is slightly different from what I told school so I'm hoping that all the option blicks fit and I can do Art instead of P.e :S

Working on a masters in EE, analog electronics. This semester have 422 Microwave Communication (boring vector calculus), 511 Analog Electronics, and 538 Intro Solid State Fabrication.

Actually found I like the fabrication class a lot, so maybe I will be moving more in that direction than analog circuit design. Will see how it goes.

and

Anatomy and pyshiology - absolute boredom and the teacher doesn't speak good english and its one of those sit there and the teacher talks at you for 4 hours.
