So here's a weird question:

Is it against the unwritten "guy code" to hold a door open for another guy??
I mean, will it make me seem gay? :icon_bigg

I know it's polite, but is it done?

I know that another unwritten "guy law" is don't make eye contact in public bathrooms, because that means you wanna hook up.

And any other unwritten laws a person who has grown up and was socialized as female should know??

No, holding doors is not taboo. Growing up in Jersey nobody did, but down south most people are polite :icon_wink At school everyone will hold a door for anyone else.

Holding doors isn't against guy code.
I don't know about anything else though.

I hold a door open for everyone.

I don't care what people think, its common courtesy in my eyes.

If i hold it for a woman,
"Thanks"
"No bother"
for a man,
"Cheers fella"
"No bother"

...
Men shouldnt smile at people as they walk past, unless they want something...

I have a constant smile on my face... aha

I've held the door open for other guys, and other guys have held doors open for me. I don't mean like pulling it open and letting me in first, but just holding it open if I'm right behind them. It's just a matter of not being a prick and letting the door slam in someones face and I think it's pretty universal. I do this for anyone who happens to be behind me.

As for bathroom habits I don't avoid eye contact but don't look for it either.

I can't think of any others at the moment

it creeps some guys out if you hold them the door, and smile at them - or wait for them to pass you and go through the door first.
but if you just bump the door or hold it for a short moment until they are close enough to go through after you everything is fine

To be fair, some of us don't follow the guy code strictly....seeing as we're...well, gay or bisexual

I'll go ask a friend

I hold the door for everybody... I'm an equal-opportunity nice person :D

And I make eye-contact at the urinal a lot... it's more of a social experiment. Like when there is an odd number of urinals and making it so that the next person who comes in has to stand next to somebody.... it's interesting to see where they go or if they just wait until somebody is finished.
And I'm just a prick like that :icon_bigg

And I smile all the time... especially when I'm passing people on the street. Sometimes I wave. I dunno, I'm strange

here's some:

no two guys in the same bed and no two guys on the same motorcycles.

though i guess it doesn't really apply for us homos/bis. :D

Have you ever been to a huge party and people start passing out? Seen multiple guys sharing: couches, beds, futons.. etc.

Being the Southern Gentleman that I am.. I hold the door open for everyone.

A lot of straight guys I know avoid physical contact, especially hugging, unless it's a momentous event; immediate family death or a sports victory come to mind.

My straight friend said he didn't know if it was gay to do that -.- .

Evil!

I love you :p

It's not against the "guy code" to hold a door open for someone. It's more of a common courtesy like saying excuse me and shaking hands. it proves you're not an asshole.

Yeah, I agree, gay or not, courtesy and proper 'breeding' still prevails. :D

im not a guy... but i always hold the door open for people (tho usually girls more)... its actually how i first started talking to my crush. (i actually slowed down so she was right behind me, so it wasnt weird for me to hold it open for her)

i would make eye contact in a bathroom just to freak people out.
but girls do it all the time, so its not akward.
