Soviet Russia, I find it fascinating. Also, Victorian London, more specifically the Jack the Ripper cases, I'm an avid amateur Ripperologist, as is my mummy :D

Gosh, really? We learn about them all the bloody time in British schools :p
Mind you, in the UAE we're not strictly allowed to learn about the Holocaust, but I went to the holocaust exhibition at the Imperial War Museum in London to find out for myself, and thankfully we had a very awesome history teacher who gave us a basic grounding of it ^_^

Yeah, we never really go in depth about anything unless the class is specifically about it
I would hate to not be able to learn about something but its really cool you were able to learn about it. Do a lot of people learn about it on their own in the UAE?

I love history. Everything from ancient times through colonization is my favorite. Everything from colonization onwards I'm not all that interested in. The older the better. My specialty is Ancient Egypt.

Oh yeah, my mother is a Global History teacher for my school and teaches the AP World History, and the AP European History classes.
I had her for a teacher. And have a chance to do independent study with her. I don't know if I should or not...

I like ancient stuff. I don't particularly like newer history, like all the big wars and stuff.
I love ancient greece, rome, egypt, china and stuff like that. Medival history is really cool aswell. And the sort of Shakespeare-england time era was interesting. :)

Early Modern Mediterranean. The Habsburgs and The Ottomans - major interest. Though I am still interested in the Classical Age (Greek and Romans), I find it very hard to discern between "history" and "myth-history" when reading about them. The Middle Ages - Early Modern Period have relatively reliable source. My span of interest stops at the year 1875.

Aside from early Asian history, ancient Egypt, and the Roman Empire, my favorite history topic is the French Revolution.
