At last I could do it. It's up and running. It's very basic but it works and it looks moderately good.
Thanks Paul for providing the server and some advice.
Check it out here:

Following Dave's suggestion I'm going to remove the frames and do more or less the same without them. I think I could do something better without any frames.

Yes, I agree - get rid of the frames. They cause search engine problems and prevent people from bookmarking specific pages. It looks good, though.
By the way, although I'm in Hereford, the server is in a data centre in London Docklands.

OK, I got rid of the frames. I have some new ideas but I'll implement them later.

Great job ^^ much better now without the frames, too! I'm juggling several projects at the moment, so contribution's not going to be easy for me at first, but I'll be making time soon ^^

The poll I've posted on the Chit Chat forum says so far that most of EC's members are on broadband connections, but I know that many of the members are on dial-up. Therefore, I've decided to do two versions of the magazine's web page - a graphics-intensive "broadband version" and a graphically stripped-down "narrowband version".
The idea came from MSN's portal some years ago. Then it was available in two versions. I know, Microsoft is evil... but for once they had a good idea.

The web site will be heavily modified as soon as the final logo is chosen. I'll probably use a darker style then.
The first issue is at the moment far from finished - we're still in the organizational stage. I'll post a thread informing of the project's progress later (after I finish doing my exercises and take a shower... I probably stink right now, lol)
