Chat using IRC client

How does one go about accessing the chat using an IRC client? :p

I highly doubt it is accessible with an IRC client. It probably uses its own crazy internal system for delivering messages, whereas your IRC client uses the IRC protocol.

In otherwords, it's like trying to fit the cube in the circular hole (that's what she... nevermind, doesn't quite work).

The chatroom is not accessible through IRC or anything else. We need to be able to restrict access to Full Members only and tie it into the EC membership system, so using a specific chatroom system was the best way to do that. Also we needed something that would work on a computer without the need to install any extra software, in case some members were using family or school PCs with restricted user accounts.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been extremely busy with school and football. Thank you for the info, Paul. It didn't occur to me that an IRC server would compromise the security put in to protect us. :)
