The site itself is hosted in the USA or Canada, and the owners are in the USA I think. However it is an international site with members from all over the world. As Dave says it's mainly from America/Canada, UK and Australia/New Zealand, which is understandable as these are English speaking countries, but we have members from many countries. So where it is doesn't matter - everyone is welcome! :)

It is owned and run by the same people as own and run a popular adult gay website/forum.

The site itself uses vBulletin forum software.

No, but I look after it on a day-to-day basis, make changes to settings etc as needed. The owners are busy with their main site so leave most of running this one to me. Dave and TriBi put in a lot of time with moderating etc too.

I do own emptyclosets.NET which is where the chatroom is hosted, though.

Here is some information about the EC server.

I used a traceroute program in order to find out where the server is. It couldn't reach the Empty Closets server (it guessed Atlanta, GA though), so I tried with the JustUsBoys server which is run by the same guys. It says it's in Atlanta too, so we can conclude that EC is hosted from there.

By the way, the EC server is running Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0, while the emptyclosets.net (Paul's) server is running Apache 1.3.3.7 on UNIX.

Hey!

YOU might look pretty - I think fell out of that classification a few years ago, LOL!

But I have to say that Paul is very much "at the helm" (I'm glad to say).

He really does do a fantastic job for EC. Dave is pretty good too...he's done a lot of good (creative) stuff for the site, as well as contribute some good advice (as has Paul).

Me? - Well I just sort of swan around trying to look important...

My thoughts exactly. I guess they have their reasons though. I would never use Windows Server (that's what IIS runs on) for web hosting, for security and stability reasons.

As noted above, my server runs Apache on Linux.

The thing is, IIS is not commonly seen nowadays. Everyone uses Apache.

I now have FTP access to emptyclosets.com, and it is actually running Debian Linux. I don't know whether it's using Apache or something else for http though.
