I wash mine very, very thoroughly before the rare instances that I share them with my girlfriend (we have our own) and I use plastic-wrap (lesbian condom) on them.

well its a matter of preference. do you want to share your toys? but I would say that if you do you should make sure you wash the toys thoroughly before using a toy on you and again before using it on the person you are with also like tinkerbell said you could use some type of protection like plasic wrap which I also use.
