I dissagree.
Oral sex seems like an amazing think to me!

And no child left behind is bad (in my opinion) because it babies children and allows them to sleep all day and still get a high school diploma if they wanted to. Trade school is a much better idea. It give children that aren't skilled academically the chance to learn a trade that they would succeed in and enjoy more for that reason.

I knew about 4 and 5 because I can see them more easily from my position as a student, but I understand why 1-3 worry you. I get frustrated because I am a student that excels in all areas of school, so when someone is promoted on to the next grade but didnt get the grades, I'm frustrated and I wonder why I try to do my best when I really dont have to. I also feel that I get cheated out of my education because teachers are teaching to pass the tests and to get the students to pass the grade, and I dont get much out of it. I worry about the people who just get promoted to the next grade, do they think that is what is going to happen in the real world when they get a job, they get promoted for no reason? Education in general just frustrates me.

About NCLB, my teacher (a very respectable person) helped me put it into perspective...

From my stand point as a student who enrolls in the honor and Advanced Placement classes. Supposedly the NCLB would group the higher level students in with the lower level students on the bases that we should all learn together (hence the "left behind" part). This does not work. Im not saying the lower level students are idiots. Different people have different rates of learning. Some learn faster than others. What it completely idiotic is when you group together students who learn at different paces. either the slower learners wont learn anything because things are moving too fast, or the faster ones are being cheated of the highest level of education possible and are being in fact held back, or both.

Another thing is all this testing. We spend so much time testing it screws up not only the lesson plans for the teachers but also the learning of the students. How well do you expect the students to do on the tests when all there time is spend testing and not learning?

Another thing (although it might not be NCLB i dont know for sure) it seems that every year "they" are raising the "National Standards". Even though you hear all this flack about schools NOT meeting standard, you find theyre going to raise it anyway. Of course schools wont meet the standard. You kinda half to let them CATCH UP first.

I’m actually a bit scared of water… okay, terrified! We had a college trip to a reservoir to go kayaking and raft building last month and as soon as I sat in the kayak I burst into tears! At least I was brave enough to get in the water.
