I just finished writing a looooong paper on same-sex marriages. 2,654 words. I don't want to post it here for the public to see, because I don't want anyone to steal my work (not that I don't trust any of you, I'm just very cautious).
However, if any of you are interested in reading it, PM me, and I'll email it to you.

Congrtadulations on writing that paper!!:eusa_clap
If I missed something, sorry... is this for school or something? I hope you get recognized for some type of award, for having the patience to write something that long!!! :eusa_danc (!)

It's for my English final. My teacher told us to write a paper that's 9 to 11 pages on any contemporary issue, and I chose same-sex marriage. It's due tomorrow. I have no idea why she would assign us something so long though. She has to correct them all by Friday!

I have had to write quite a number of lengthy papers in my education. It doesn't change in college. Actually, I think it gets worse in college.
You do an excellent job writing your thoughts - both from an "English teacher" standpoint and from an interesting standpoint.
Thanks for sharing.

They wouldn't let you write on that?! Brutal. My Catholic highschool did. Often. (Even though the presentations sometimes made classmates and teachers alike squirm). Alot of people are against gay marriage. Sigh.

I wrote it on bipolar disorder(which both i and my mom have) it was a good pamphlet (she changed the assiment to making a pamphlet). i was still really upset about it though...

I've read one book on it. I think it was the best book I have ever read.
It is from a series of books. All on different popular issues. Gay Marriage and Smoking are the two I found.
It takes BRILLIANT people... ok maybe not brilliant but highly educated people and one writes and the other writes opposing it.
They are called Opposing Viewpoints. (The series that is.)
I love reading books like that because I like to form my own opinion. It is damn near impossible to find a non bias book. Especially on that topic and others I would like to read about. This way you can read it and yeah the sides are going to be bias but they can't LIE on their side because the other would know. Everything they say has to backed up with proof. Unless of course it is opinion.

That's EXCEPTIONALLY long for a high school paper--many university papers aren't even that long.
I wrote a 15 page (3,300 word) analytical essay for Visual Communication (analysing 3 separate pieces of Graphic Design) 3 weeks ago, for my Year 12 studies. Although, my teacher didn't actually specify 15 pages - that's just how many pages it took to fulfil all the criteria. I suppose teachers just expect more from their students these days.
That being said: I'd love to read your paper Amp, I'll PM you for it :)

30 pages? That must have taken forever! That's so ridiculous.
If you want to read, just send me a PM with your email address and I'd be happy to send it. :)

:eusa_clap What an awesome paper:eusa_clap
I was reading it thinking "I wonder if he is going to tell the story from the thread about Bill and Robert, and how without the rights of marriage, Bill couldn't see Robert in the hospital before he died?"
And then yes, you did
Great job!

Congratulations! That 95 (percent I assume) is well deserved. It is an excellent paper, very well written both in terms of presenting your point and in the use of good clear English. Well done!

Only 95%? I would of gave you a 100%! LOL It's a paper that is very convincing and full of accurate information. I see you quoted Dan Savage? Have any of you ever read The Kid...The Day my boyfriend and I got pregnant? That is one of my most favorite books by him. It's very funny and touches your heart at the same time.
