yeah. something about people facing their enemies. one girl was a homophobe, and there was a lesbian....She ended up understanding the lesbian girl, which is good.

Wow! That's just crazy! I was talking to my mom about why my uncle thought being gay and acting on homosexual 'feelings' was a sin. She put it really good. She said: "I don't see why everybody has a problem with homosexualty. How can it be a sin? Comparted to murder or other sins it's not hurting anybody or affecting anybody at all so how can it be wrong? In murder you're not born with those feelings and you can control them so you don't hurt people. With homosexuality your born with those feelings and you can't just change because other people have a problem with it. it's like you telling your uncle to be a girl because there are too many guys and God wants it that way. He could get the surgeries and stuff but in his mind he'd feel wrong and never be able to truely be a girl. it's just not fair for people to judge others when they don't have those feelings."

It's crazy how many religious folk compare homosexuality to pedophiles, murderers and all sorts of other horrible people. Makes me furious. This Dr. Phil show kind of sounds like another show I saw one time. This mid-western, Bible belt guy was truly scared of gay people. He believed they were sinners, blah, blah, blah. He agreed to go live with a gay guy for 30 days. His mind was totally changed after that. They became friends. The gay guy even took him to a gay bar where he took off his shirt and was dancing around. lol The gay guy was kind of irritated with him for that because he was afraid somebody would come on to him when he was acting that way. This straight guy even went to a PFLAG meeting and met Sam and Julie Thoron. Sam was our National PFLAG President until just recently. Sam told him about their lesbian daughter and how she deserved the same rights and responsibilities as their straight children. The guy said on Oprah how if he had a child who was gay, he'd want the same thing! It was nice to see somebody evolve like that!

I saw that! It was an episode of 30 days. I didn't think he'd change at first- he was so freaked about his gay roomate. But he really did, and it was awesome.
