The purpose of this thread is making collaboration easier if there's more than one person working on the same type of content (yeah, that's unlikely now, but it might happen)

If you plan to submit content for publication on ecwebzine, please post your intention here, as well as the type of content you plan to submit.

Your contributions are very appreciated.

I'll write an extensive comparison between Windows and Linux for the technology and computers section of ecwebzine. I might write more, though.

I will (hopefully) write a movie review...if you have any suggestions for what movie.....it can be old or new etc

That'd be good Dave. How about brief reviews of several current movies that are likely to have general appeal? Perhaps ones that have recently been released on DVD or are likely to soon.

I'm thinking to write about series of ecology stuff, especially global warming.
I won't do boring long article about it but what I'm thinking is to encourage young people who did not have any interests in saving Earth to do very little thing to save Earth.

For example:
There are a lot of things causes Global warming. One major one is.................
And you can reduce amount of cardon dioxide right now by doing little thing.

1. Turn the light off when you are not home or unnecessary light around the house.
2. When you are taking shower, make it 1 minute quicker than usual.
3.........................................

Samething like that.

And I also have an another idea for the ecwebzine:icon_wink

Some good info on conserving energy, without all the usual scaremongering and paranoia that often accompanies it, would be interesting. How about investigating how much energy goes into the manufacture of an energy saving light bulb and all its parts, compared to a normal light bulb?

Don't say that at loud, Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I'm definitely gonna put about it but since it's not something you can do RIGHT NOW I didn't put it in my last post that's all:icon_wink

But right now it's summer time of my senior year which I have to do lots of unusual stuff like going to open campus...etc. So I'm not sure if I'm gonna have enough time to do it...Well, I geuss I do:lol:

Sorry - I was just chucking in some ideas. There seems to be an obsession with "low energy" light bulbs here in the UK, and many people including me are far from convinced about the worth of these and thing the true cost is not being considered. Energy saving generally though is a good subject, as there are several simple things anyone can do easily.

Anyway, back to the content ideas. I'm trying to think of something to wrote about too, but haven't come up with anything yet.

You know your work is always appreciated. In fact, I owe you a couple of features of my proposal for the cover...

So, what's the other idea?

I'm working on a fantasy story that could maybe be made to be episodic. The reason it fits: the two main characters are both gay (one guy and one girl). So far it's working pretty good ^^ how long should each installment be, if this is something you guys would like? Don't say "as long as you'd like," either! ^^

Depending on print size etc you are probably looking at about 500 words per page on average. So 6-8 pages would be 3000-4000 words, which I think is probably about as long as you'd want for a single article in a magazine.

Being an electronic rather than print publication though, it can be sized to suit the content. We aren't constrained to a certain number of pages and/or working in multiples of 4 pages as would be the case with print.

That's just my opinion, not a definitive statement.

The size would be A4 or close to that (210x297mm), but I agree with Paul. So, consider how long - if it's a story divided in chapters, post one chapter per issue.

I see that there's more interest in the project than it used to be. Great!

One thought is that content you offer for the mag doesn't have to be specially written for the mag. It just needs to be your own work.

If you have written something for a school or college assignment, or just for the fun of it, and are especially proud of it, the mag could be a great place to show it off. It doesn't have to be written work either - photographs, drawings and paintings could feature in a "Gallery" section. How about a crossword, wordsearch or other puzzle? Or a cartoon?

If anyone's interested in researching it, my middleschool used to have this program where you could make wordfinds/crossword puzzles. You simply enter in the words, and it makes it. Write your own clues :P

Google for "crossword puzzle maker" and you'll find loads, including some free online ones like this http://www.puzzle-maker.com/.

Idea: All we'd have to do after someone makes a crossword puzzle using that is screenshot it and e-mail the bitmap. It's good to know that a crossword puzzle is this easy to do for the mag ^^

Yeah, it's easy to make one if I know what words to put and what clues I'm gonna put:eusa_doh:

Does any one have good idea??

Sorry for apparently not paying attention to the project - I've been working on something new. It's still in the works, but if it comes out as I'd like it to, it'll represent a boost to the magazine.

I'm happy to hear that someone is working on the crossword. Bit by bit, ecwebzine gets ready for release.

Um heh. I was thinking of this earlier. Well, trying to anyway. I'm having a lot of trouble thinking of what could be in the crossword puzzle. Should it be themed? Or just all pop-culture stuff? Anyone less scatter-brained have a clue? :P

Well, I'm not less scatter-brained person(obviously) but I was thinking we could make a empty closets theme crossword puzzle. By using quote from some thread like One Random Fact About You. But I don't know about that because if we did that not everyone is related to the crossword puzzle since not everyone had posted in that thread.

And if we decided to do pop-culture stuff crossword puzzle...Maybe we better find someone who knows that kind of stuff alot cuz I'm not:icon_sad:

Well, even I like your idea, I don't know anybody who can make/draw comics for free...
