The previous cover competition was cut short by legal problems. Now that those have been solved, the Magazine Team decided to reopen the competition. So, the guidelines follow, quoted from our earlier thread:

The Full Spectrum Magazine needs a cover image. Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to start a competition, and have its winner's work featured on the cover.

We expect to receive pictures (photos, drawings etc.) Preference will be given to LGBT-related pictures. Submitted pictures have to be high-resolution ones - they have to fit on a 8.5 x 11.6 inches page, at 300 dots per inch. The pictures can be submitted by e-mail (contests@fullspectrummagazine.com) or by posting them in our dedicated page at www.fullspectrummagazine.com (http://www.fullspectrummagazine.com). Check out our help center to find out how.

The deadline is Friday, September 14th, 2007 at 23:59 local time. The winner will be chosen in two stages, both times by public voting. First, five works will be chosen according to members' votes; then, a new poll will be started for people to pick among those five works.

As I said above, the winner's work will be featured on the magazine's cover. However, the remaining works will also be included in the magazine, although not on the cover.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you want to. You can contact me by PM or through any of m instant messaging accounts (they are under my avatar for those who don't know). You can post questions on our help and support forum at our web site.

We hope to receive as many works as possible.

Thanks for participating!

Hm. Well, personally, what I'd do is I'd have a door taking up the entire cover, with the message Open the Closet Door scratched on in graffiti, schoolboy-style, a poster with the logo/name on, and post-it notes with little scrawled messages about the contents of the magazine.

But I can't really create that if I don't know about the articles, and without either wrecking my door or lacking the necessary 'mad skillz' in photoshop. In short, I'm more of an ideas guy. Anyone who fancies teaming up with me, me designing it and you creating it, is more than welcome.

How is the competition going so far Fred? Many entries yet?

Still time everyone - another 11 days - but they will soon disappear!

Ack. I hate it when competitions pop up, where I've got a decent idea and no way to actually create it.

It isn't going well. No one seems to be willing to participate. We have only one entry, a quite nice one. Hey people, WE NEED A COVER..................... without one the magazine won't come out.................

I posted this thread, in the hope that someone might pay attention. The big flaw with stickying a topic is that people often just ignore the stickies.

I'm glad to see that the competition is finally attracting some attention. I've received some works today and I expect to receive more soon.

I'd like to say that participants are allowed to submit more than one entry.

Thanks for your interest,
Fred.

As I haven't received yet any works by the people who said were working on it, I'll push the deadline forward to Monday, September 24th, 2007, so that no one is left out. We aren't in a hurry. However, please remember that the deadline isn't going to be moved again. Thanks for your attention.
