This is basically an "Acrobat test" in order to see whether the majority of EC users have Acrobat Reader installed or not. The regular edition of Full Spectrum will be PDF 1.4 based - so it will require Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5 (or greater) or a PDF 1.4-compatible reader. I've included a PNG version of the page in order to do some research on PNG as well.
Thanks for voting.
NOTE: The first link can take a while to load. Please be patient.

That totally crashed firefox.
:-/ I know I've got them installed, though, I wouldn't exactly get far without Adobe stuff around.

What version of Firefox? Some of the 1.5.x versions had problems with Acrobat, but all the 2.0.x versions should be fine.
Psych!

So, why is it written in Latin?

Because it's a preview without actual text. All community previews will be mockups; the first and only version released to the public will be the final version.

You will need administrator rights on the PC to install it, so if your parents have set it so you only have normal user rights you'll need to get one of them to install it for you.

Yes I can see them both, don't most computers come with reader as a default?

Most computers have Adobe Reader installed by default - otherwise we wouldn't have chosen PDF as the magazine's default format. However we wanted to know how many people in average didn't have Reader installed. We plan to use at least another format, so that people without Reader can still access the full content. The alternative format of choice is as of now PNG (lossless compression is a must), although that might change in the future. Still, we recommend people to use PDF, as a single page of Full Spectrum is, in average, 50% bigger in PNG than in PDF.

Also a PDF file would contain the whole publication and could be printed in one go, whereas separate PNG files for each page would have to be printed individually.

Yeah. PDF has some nice features much better suited for a publication (such as continuous display and opposing pages) which PNG lacks...
However, it's our goal to make it available for everyone, so we'll release both versions.
