View Full Version : Unexpected (But Pleasant) Coming Out

Okay, so I had that coming out letter I've been writing to my parents on my flash drive at school today, so I could work on it some more (which I didn't). But my friend needed to borrow it, and I absentmindedly gave it to him. First off, my friend is openly gay, flamboyant even. So he is going through all the files on there (I have a TON of stories on there that he likes to read) and he asks me about the letter. There are other people around so I just shrug it off as some random crap. Cut to about an hour ago, and we start texting. And then he asks me, "so was that letter yours?" and I pause to think for a minute. Should I tell him or not? My response is a terse, "yes". And that leads to a wonderful conversation and I am really glad all of this happened the way it did. Just one more step towards fully coming out.

Good for you (!) It will do you good to have a bit of support before coming out to your parents.
