I said, "I'm attracted to other girls."
He said, "A zo, you're attracted to oter girls, eh?"
Well, not really, but it was not a big deal. :icon_bigg

Psychiatrists probably hear people's deep dark secrets every day, so it won't bother them. It's good that you have a psychiatrist that is not homophobic and isn't going to try to treat your gayness though.
I'm sure having this out between you will help with your treatment too. Keeping things secret from a psychiatrist when they affect what you're being treated for is obviously going to hinder the treatment.
Congratulations!

Congratulations, when I told my therapist that my son was gay she told me that basicly it was my husband's and my fault and that being gay was a boy looking for a father figure to identify and have a relationship with... Not very helpful!
I am glad that you have an enlightened therapist, and I'm glad for me that I have EC!:icon_bigg

Yes, it sounds to me like you may need a different one. It is one thing exploring why you say you are gay, exploring and questioning is what therapist do, but basically not believing you and trying to suggest you are straight is not going to help.
I hope you find one like the one The Lone Duck or Jim are using, and not like the one Louise is using. They shouldn't force their prejudices onto their clients, but clearly some to. :(
