Great expectations? Eh, it wasn't everything I thought it would be.

Okay, someone had to say it! ^^

I'm already in the planning stage for my next story for the mag ^^ and considering my options for a second submission, too! (!) So excited! This turned out so well!

Excellent work Fred and everyone who has contributed. Congratulations.

I'm already looking forward to 2.0!

I have closed a number of threads in this section which are about the work leading up to this launch. This will prevent people accidentally posting in them and it getting confused with FS 2.0 discussions.

can i help with anything with 2.0

You could write an article about whatever interests you, a short story, a poem or whatever. Maybe you already have something you did for a school assignment or whatever that you think would interest others?

Or you could do a photograph or artwork for the front cover. I'm sure there will be another front cover competition for that soon.

it'll be read sometime...
For some reason it won't let me look at it right now because of something about an adobe reader needing update? I dunno...I'll update my adobe and read it...later.
However for the 3 seconds I got to look at it...it looks good.

um... Just Us Boys. Not suitable for people under 18.

I wish we could call fullspectrummagazine.com a "sister site"...

I wish we could call fullspectrummagazine.com a "sister site"...

FS and EC are close as we can get without running into legal issues. All of us involved with the day-to-day running of EC fully support FS as though it is a part of EC. There are articles by some of the mods, this discussion area, an announcement on the front page etc. It's just the legal complications that mean we can't make it an official part of EC.

So although we can't call fullspectrummagazine.com a "sister site" it is certainly a "best friend site". :)

For some reason it won't let me look at it right now because of something about an adobe reader needing update? I dunno...I'll update my adobe and read it...later.
However for the 3 seconds I got to look at it...it looks good.

The easiest solution is to dump the bloated software known as "Adobe Acrobat reader". Each version gets worse than than the last, and version 8 will tax even the newest systems.

I recommend the free Foxit for Windows systems:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php

I don't run it with any plug in in my web browser so PDF's just download normally and open in a dedicated Foxit window.

Full Spectrum is known not to be rendered properly by some PDF readers other than Acrobat Reader 5.0 and up, the most notorious exception being Ubuntu Linux's default Evince reader. It is displayed properly by most of them, but the team hasn't tried all available PDF readers.

Officially, we recommend Adobe Reader 8, as it is the most well-tested reader. Feedback on Full Spectrum's behavior under other readers would be welcome.

It displays fine in FoxIt Reader 2.2 and Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional on Windows Vista.

FoxIt is more responsive when scrolling through the document with the mouse wheel, probably because it applies less visual smoothing to the display.

I received this PM from a mod at JUB. :)

Wow, you guys. I cannot tell you how totally impressed I am by the Full Spectrum magazine. It's absolutely terrific! And they did this all on their own? Amazing!!

I read Moderator Becky's story about her son Adam and literally had tears in my eyes. I had to join and thank her for such a wonderful story and for being such a great lady.

You all at EC should be so proud!!
