Please just stop! I want to save you alll from suicide but as hard as i try i can't. fact: someone commits suicide every 19 minutes. and it kills me. I try to talk to you , i try to post as much advice as possible and it really tears me to peices that i barely make a difference to you at all. why do you post your anonymous suicide letters?! no one can help you! you are playing a cruel game. this is not funny! do not do that you really are hurting us! we want to help you! just let us or don't bother posting because it will bother me the rest of my life if i find out something happened to you because i couldn't help you in time. I am the Guardian Angel on earth i am here to help other out of self-harm and suicide and it just destroys me when i can't do that to you. I just want to help. stop beign so selfish and leaving us with your death in our hands. i just want help but all i seem to do it. fail. i'm here at EC, not for myself. I am here for you people. so i can help. i'm done with ym gayjourney of self discovery. I am only here to help now and when you taunt me with these anonymous stuff you are hurting me. nop one desreves to read your little anonoymosu suicide letter. please let me talk to you! get yourself help! you do no deserve to die. I've commited suicide one too many times and have been hospitalized twice for it, once for self harm, have gotten stitches for one self harm and sutchers for a suicide attempt. I've talk many people out of suicide and i realize sources like suicide hotline number really don't help at all but please just talk to me or someone. I know what its like i've felt these feelings before and i made it my meaning to help others with it because i kno just how much it hurts to feel no will to live. But please stop hurting me, us! It does not goodto taunt us with your life. You need to live and get help. This too will pass.

Yeah I agree 100%
It just teases people in the most cruel way. You need all this help, yet you post in a way that no one can help you. If you need help, let people know, This site is for helping people get through things like that. People here care and want to help, don't mess with their heads like that.

We are here to help at ec also a reminder the admins and mods can see who the users are so if you seem as a threat to anyone else or yourself the admin can take action going about that.

Here is a question though, techincally if you post a suicide letter anonmously isn't Paul or one of the other mods legally obligated to see who it is and get help for that person?
Maybe not..becuase some of us live half way around the world. I'm just curious what the law says about people posting suicide letters anonymously.

Yes, we can find out who has made any anonymous post (either by looking at the anon post log or by matching IP addresses). We very rarely need to do so, however in the event of a suicide threat we certainly would. So using the anonymous posting section is not a significant barrier to finding out who you are if we really need to.
The problem though is trying to convert the information we have (IP address, username, email address, location details in the profile, anything that has been posted here, and other info that we may know from previous communications etc) into "real" information such as the person's name, location and telephone number.
If we felt that the threat could be serious we would gather whatever information we could find and try to pass it onto the police in the relevant area. We certainly would not ignore it.
From then it would depend on how much work the police were prepared and able to do. In theory, knowing the IP address they could contact the Internet provider and find out the customer details. Some Internet providers would probably provide this on request in a life-or-death situation, whereas others may insist on a warrant or court order before providing it which would delay it possibly too much.
If the person is still online we would endeavour to contact him/her too, using PMs, the chatroom if he/she is in there, or whatever instant messenger they have in their profile.
There may be times though when none of us are online. If you see a suicide threat posted here please use the Report Post feature. This sends an email to all the mods and admins (including the admins at JUB). It doesn't matter if we get lots of post reports for something like this, so don't assume someone else has done it.

After since the situation with the person who actually tried to and posted it on Empty Closets i think it might become necessary to do so especially after that situation

i know it really is. I think death rates total are one death every 7 seconds and one birth every 5. so suicde every 19 minutes isn't too big in the total but its still pretty recent. even if i spent all day talking to each induvidual i'd need more than 19 minutes per person to talk them out of it.
