To much?

I take 2 baths a day. One shower in the morning to wake me up and clean up and stuff, and a bath at night to relax, and everyone tells me its too much, that one shower a day is fine but two is to many. Is it?

It depends on you, where you live, what work you do or lifestyle you lead etc.

If it's not that hot, you don't do anything to work up a sweat during the day, don't get dirty at work, don't go out where people are smoking and come home smelling of it etc, then one shower in the morning is probably enough.

However if you are getting sweaty or dirty during the day then a bath in the evening to freshen up and relax you before going to bed is good.

I normally have a shower and wash my hair in the morning (I need to to get my hair sorted out), and that's it. However in the summer if it's hot, or if I've got dirty then I'll have a shower when I get home too. If I'm going out in the evening I'll often have a shower before.

I certainly don't think two showers/baths each day is excessive. If that's what suits you then it seems OK to me.

I would suggest that you use mild soap and shampoo though, to reduce the risk of drying out your skin. I use baby shampoo and baby soap which are very mild.

I was in the habit of taking two showers a day for many years, but then Georgia kind of ran out of water :tears:.

So, I don't think there's anything wrong with it if you're not under any kind of water restrictions.

yeah i am infamous at my house for taking like 30-40 minute showers every morning. its a bad habit but i love them

Before you went out - shower
After you got home - shower
Before you go bed - shower

That would be too much but as long as you have reasons to take a shower then I think it's perfectly fine:)

I think that's fine. Personally, I would have a shower in the morning and then again if I'm going out or if I got sweaty at work or whatnot, however usually it's only one shower a day. The only prob is if you live in Australia, or some parts of America where there are droughts (or other places with droughts) cos then you're only meant to have 3-5 min showers...oh well I still have 20 min showers at least!

One to two is the perfect amount.

I usually take a REALLY long shower... the water going cold is my time limit...

I usually get in and wash up then do the conditioner then RELAX. once the water slightly changes temperature I wash the conditioner out then get out.

To the OP, do you feel the need to take more than one a day? If so, it may be symptomatic of a larger disorder. If not, so long as your community isn't running out of water, and that you are not impeding the lives of your co-habitants, there shouldn't be a problem with your shower schedule.

i don't believe it is too much. If you have the time to have showers and baths every day then why not. They are so relaxin. I love a good bath so two a day must be great. It all depends up to u. If you are the type of person who likes having 2 baths and a shower a day then u shuld. For others just 1 of either is adequette.

Obviously very few of you are actually paying for water and power to heat the water yourselves.
Some place I read that showering every day is bad for the body.That there's certain oils and protective coatings on the body that are beneficial.But I don't have actual facts to back this up.

Hey if you like to take 2 a day then I see no problem in it, however I also have heard that its bad for your skin and that you need the oils that your skin has and if you take a lot of showers then you are washing away they oils your skin needs I also don't have the facts but as long as your skin isn't dry then it shouldn't be a problem.

I personally only take 1 shower a day in the morning for about 15-20 minutes.

Droughts in South Aus as well, I think our restrictions are just as bad, but not completely sure...I do know that our showers are meant to be 3-5 min or something liek that and not any longer

I do, which is why I shower rather than bath (it uses a LOT less water) and why I don't spend ages in there. I'm in there long enough to get clean without rushing, but no longer than that. Anyway I don't have time in the mornings to hang around.
