I was actually considering it a few days ago. Because my hair gets these stupid curls when it starts to get quite long, and I want it straight. If only I could actually get a straightener without my parents thinking I'm really weird.

It's weird but i hate the curls in my hair.... my friends like it though, but i really think i'm just gonna start straightening it all the time.... i mean i plan on for once growing my hair long...... and i know that will make alot of people say oh want's to look like a girl but that's not it i just really like how long hair looks on some guys so i want to try it out if i hate it it can be easilly gotten rid of....but straightening it makes it appear even longer plus it looks shinier to me lol

I straighten my hair!! I like it better straight, but i don't do it all the time. My Mum and Dad got me a straightener for my birthday, lol. Mum likes it both ways but personally i like it better straight.
Hope i didn't confuse lol

No, I don't. I might do it for a joke sometime soon though (I don't think it will be a flattering look on me).

I don't! My hair is straight and I like it that way. :) But it's too short anyway

I don't, but I will be soon. My hair, although somewhat strait, has a tendency to grow "out" to one side. By that I mean it sort of sticks out and looks terrible. I'd straighten it now if my sister hadn't have moved out and taken the straightener with her.

I don't straighten my hair, since my hair is so damn straight as it is, however I am asked ALLLL the time if I do since my hair is so long (I bet I beat most of the ladies on EC in the length department :icon_wink ). Chrisbrgstrg, I highly suggest letting you hair grow out! At first it's odd and funky, even a little uncomfortable - I never knew what an awkward hair phase was until I let it grow out - but worth it. There is much strength in a man's mane, and on that note, how many bearded men do we have here? I am very bearded.
I've tried straightening my hair... but i just burned myself >.>... its too long for me, but it's too short for straightening maybe? I wish i could do it, but im just impossible with such a device - help anyone ? (A)

I think I did once, and that was for a fancy dress party. My mum's got one, but I dunno... I couldn't be bothered trying to use it. Knowing me, I'll singe my hair or burn the house down

I used to, but I stopped about a year ago because my straightener was crappy and I was tired of doing it. People loved by 'fro. My hair is REALLY curly when I don't straighten it. But then I got sick of that just recently, so I got a new straightener and now I'm back into it.
I'll do it for a while now... maybe forever, I just LOVE the way my hair feels when I do.

I'm not bearded, but I am very longhaired. :)
My hair is naturally wavy and I straighten it about once a week or so, depending on a variety of factors.

I used a wet to straight straightener it's my sisters....even though i'm completley out i still feel a little weird buying a straightener lol dunno why haha
But some friends said they dont like it, but i like it and i guess that's what matters.... has anyone ever felt like they let the opinions of some people who are close to you way to heart..... i mean people say don't dye youre hair, dont cut youre hair, ewww gross cut youre hair, i mean i've heard it all about my hair.....
But for once y'know i just want to do what i wanna do and that is to grow it out and to straighten it y'know....haha

Never bothered. My hair is naturally straight. I want it curly, just because it looks cool on people :icon_bigg
I don't really get why people want straight hair. I don't think they're that good (probably because I've had straight hair ever since forever)

I straighten my hair everyday before I go out. well... if I'm going somewhere I do it right after I get out of the shower.
I blow dry it as straight as I can get it. (By accident... I just blow dry my hair like that but meh)
Then I put Chi Silk Infusion stuff in then straighten then a lil bit more infusion afterwards.
The Silk infusion keeps your hair from getting destroyed as fast. (If you straighten regularly it WILL destroy your hair... luckily if you're a boy it is short ((most the time)) and you really don't get dead ends for long before you snip em off.)
ALSO it makes your hands REALLY soft.
You should check out the thread we had on this in the health section.

Is it even possible to straighten one's hair even if it's like 3 to 4 inches long? I mean the straightening device my mother has is like made up of 2 giant plates and that makes it impossible for me to use it so I have no idea what to do about my curly hair.

I've never tried straightening my hair. I've been curious what it would look like, sometimes. My hair can get pretty thick (amout-wise) if I let it grow out, so I'm not sure how well it would work.

There are different sizes. The Chi has two plates about an inch in width.
My hair isn't that long and I straighten it. I cut the sides and back short because I got tired of straightening that but I don't believe the top of my head has hair longer then 6 inches MAX.
You have to watch out for STEAM burns but that happens with all straighteners on any length of hair.
Short hair needs to have the roots straightened. With long hair you need to try to get the roots but you don't have to work hard at it because the weight of your hair will pull it somewhat straight.
Well when i grow out my hair more i'm gonna be doing it alot more so i will look for that Chi Silk Infusion....
I believe whole heartedly that the Chi is the best straightener out. I've used others and they just didn't work. They have a lot of stuff to help your hair too. My advice is go to a hair stylist and ask them about what you should use for your hair. I really like the Silk Infusion stuff because it smells REALLY good. (and not in a girly way... I believe it smells more masculine.)
