Interacial Dating

So i have been talking to this really cute and sweet african american guy, we are both the same age and consenting adults at 21. Anyway i know how hard it can be being a openly gay couple, but my guess it's even harder to be a openly gay interacial couple... as there will be even more hate then there would be to begin with.

His family hating me because i'm white and gay...

My family hating him because he's black and gay...

Neither of are families are openly racist but we both know threw talking they would not be so open to there son dating a guy of a different race, simply because they know it will affect there relationship with more bigoted family members...let alone the gay factor the other family members are already beginning to deal with.

Also the fact the black and white community often times look down on seeing there kind with the other race.....it's truly unfortunate and in both of are opinions stupid.

I beleive this relationship if it happened could truly go places, but we both are having hesitations about even going on the first date because of this....

Anyone here ever date outside there race? how did it go? did you ever meet there family? will i be linched?? help!!

I don't know where you live, but it's too bad both your families are like that. For me and probably most people here, the term "interacial" is just weird because I really don't care what "race" people are. I would say go for it. You don't have to share details with the families, do you? I think they should get over their intolerance... this is the 21st century. It would really suck for you both to forget a relationship because your families.

I don't have a problem with it but I find that I'm just more attracted to my race. People will always think what they want, and I don't think interacial dating will raise anymore eyebrows then a gay couple would xD

My current boyfriend is African American, and I'm Caucasian, but we love each other, and that's all that matters. If you two really like each other, then you won't worry about other people's opinions :)

Well we talked today and we're deffinitley going on a date..... but we havent made plans on when he sugested tomorrow, i feel bad because i honestly can't tomorrow i babysit for my sister who is going threw crap with a breakup right now and is getting pshychiatric help....and her kids need there uncle and grandma right now alot!
