I did notice the PDF did seem quite big (10MB), considering not all members have high speed connections.
The dpi settings for the graphics is higher than necessary. Playing around with the PDF on my computer, limiting it to 144dpi yields a 5MB file with little noticeable difference in the graphics, and 72dpi yields a 2.6MB file with slightly lower quality graphics but still quite usable.
It might also be worthwhile to have a hi-res and a low-res version.

FS is designed to be printable. That's why the dpi are at 200 at least.
The team is working on different versions right now.

Problem number: 3
Version: 1.0 (Sirius)
Description: Full Spectrum takes a long time to load / it is rendered slowly
Reason: Full Spectrum is heavily vector-based, so rendering requires a relatively powerful CPU as well as some memory. Hi-res images also occupy more memory than normal, low-res images.
Solution: The minimum system requirements for Full Spectrum are a 1 GHz CPU and 256 MB of RAM, although it might be displayed on older configurations. A smaller (but non-printable) version will be available soon. The Full Spectrum team is working on a browser-based lightweight version as well.
EDIT: We have an internal 100dpi version of Full Spectrum. So far it occupies 3.3 MB, but it needs to be polished a little.
