I'm Out...To Everyone.

I'm done.

This afternoon, with two of my best friends there with me, I updated my Facebook interested in to 'Men.' My closet status went from 10ish friends and my family to my entire 2600-person school.

I'm...free!!!

I'd like that thank everyone at EC who has helped me since I began the coming out process last Novemeber to my best friends, up to being an openly gay teenager today.

And the response so far has been incredible :) A ridiculous amount of people have let me know that they love me and that they're here for me. We'll see how tomorow goes...

Your school must be a step above most in NC, because I did High School in NC and I would never have come out then, people were so narrow-minded and very extreme with the religion. I got made fun of sometimes for being Catholic, because apparently in the south that's not a christian religion (I'm from NY origionally). Then again, my high school was in the tobacco farming countryside so that might have played a part.

I got ungrounded after 2 weeks, so only the shit with my family happened while i was grounded.

Well, I live in one of NC's bigger cities so open-mindeness is more common then in most parts of the state...but we still have our fair share of religious narrow-minded right wing people. It's more moderate then the rest of the south. I don't even really consider where I live to be very southern.
