So, today I gave a speech to the whole student body (in a competition) about the Boy Scouts and their membership discrimination (They don't allow gays or atheists). I am a Scout, so the topic was personal and many people complimented me afterwards on how well I gave it.
After the comeptition, I asked my friend quietly if I could speak with him in private (he gave a speech too) and came out to him.
ME: ...I gave that speech for two reasons. One, as you know, I'm an atheist. Two, I'm also gay.
FRIEND: Really?
ME: Yes.
FRIEND: Well, your secret's safe with me, you know that.
I knew he would be fine with it. But we had to get to class soon so we didn't have much time to talk about it. Then, later today, at a student club meeting, I came out to my other friend and my favorite teacher at the same time, after the meeting was done and everybody had left. My gay friend (to whom I came out first) was there.
(We had been talking about gay people)
ME: Well, speaking of people you'd never know were gay, I am too.
GAY FRIEND: Oooh, nice set-up. (I told him I would come out beforehand)
TEACHER: There you go, I told you.
OTHER FRIEND: Really? Well, you know this doesn't change anything.
ME: I know that, thanks.
OTHER FRIEND: Is this your first day coming out?
ME: No, I told [Gay friend] in December, another friend last month, and [Friend] this morning. You're my fourth.
OTHER FRIEND: Sweet.
I'm so excited! Yesterday I was out to two people, now I'm out to five.
