The activist group Human Rights Watch in late January released a report called "Jamaica: Hated to Death (http://www.hrw.org/reports/2004/jamaica1104/)" which categorizes the violence and discrimination that has traditionally victimized gay people there. It's really unimaginable to think that you live in a country where at the whim of a a self-righteous mob you can be killed, like the victims in the report, just on suspicion. It's not really that far a throw from the Salem Witch Trials (http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/salem/SALEM.HTM).

I dont even need to read that article. when its comes to Jamaica the hate is spoon fed to children from birth by parents who were also fed messages of hate. Basically its a death wish to want to be publicly out here. at my catholic school two people have already been beaten for this to the point where they had to go to the pricipal's office for safety and wait for the police to be called in to stop some of the kids. oh and another fun fact anal sex is illegal here yay for governments with too much time on their hands!!:dry:

I first heard about this on oprah, A gay rights activists was raped because she was lesbian and she had to leave her homeland because she was scared for her life constantly. :(

all anal sex is outlawed in jamaica...and upon suspicion of homosexuality the police can raid your house, search your house, and question you / beat you. Such a beautiful place if your not gay and havent had your face beaten in for your 'choice' to be gay.
