    The Political Compass - Test

This is a test that will compass your political ideologies, and tell you how conservative, liberal, authoritarian, and libertarian you are.

    These are my results:

    Your political compass
    Economic Left/Right: -4.38
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.03
    [IMG]

I'm pretty Left leaning, and I tend to be very Libertarian. I'm the closest to Ghandi on the compass, which seems about right.

So how did your Compass pan out? Post it here and vote on the poll!

Socially, I'm very "do your own thang."

Economically, I'm very "GOVERNMENT, Y U NO GTFO OF BUSINESS!?"

Social Class I'm guessing is where it made me down the middle of Authoritarian/Libertarian. I'm very much a "people make their own destiny," and "POWER TO THE CORPORATIONS!" type of person.

In terms of who I'm similar to... I'm kind of off doing my own thing on the chart, lol.

To close, I describe myself as Libertarian. Stay out of my business, stop taxing me at a real tax of rate of 30%, and stop regulating the crap out of business.

Last time I took this, I was almost in the middle of the compass - just nudging into the bottom-left quadrant though.

The quiz does have a slight leftward bias though. I mean, who in their right mind would disagree with: "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations"? The question should rather be focussing on the extent to which you can serve both equally and at the same time.

I am more to the left than I first thought!!

I am wondering if its going to slightly bias you to the left, the last page is about Gay Rights, of course a gay guy is going to be strongly for gay adoption, and what goes on between adults is no business of the government.

But to be fair gay people have historically belonged in the left, as the right is full of conservatism

So yeah for Irish standards (since I can vote in the Irish Parliament)

I'm an anarcho-communist. I can't be bothered to take that test for the fourth time, but last I took it, I was in the very bottom left of the bottom left quadrant, and I'm sure no one is even slightly surprised about that. I wasn't.

Welcome. We're idealistic, disillusioned, and our dreams will never be realised.

The UK compass depresses me out, they are all at the Top Right, Even Labour, who are meant to be the socialist option.

Still confirms my doubts about the SNP especially with Salmond in charge.

I really wish the UK would get a progressive party on the left, its only insane parties like "RESPECT" who are just a joke and serve a testament to George Galloway's political vanity.

Actually this has got me reading up on anarcho communism I do agree with what it stands for, maybe I should embrace the idea

It's indeed depressing! There are plenty of Labour members that are way further to the left than the actual party, but somehow the policies are out of kilter with that.

The SNP aren't a single issue party, but they are united in that they're the main party advocating Scottish independence. And advocates of it are from all over the political compass, albeit concentrated towards the centre-left, so it's difficult to place them too accurately on the compass.

I'd hate to see where the Democrats and Republicans would end up on the scale. Both would be as far right as the Conservatives, and in fact the Republicans even more so, and both would be much more authoritative (also encompassing a more imperialist foreign policy) than Labour.
