Personally, I'd find it weirder if I slept with a guy who had my day's name.

Meh. I wouldn't mind in the slightest. I mean, if you want to start suggesting its like sleeping with yourself, well I'm pretty sure everyone here does that all the time. But my family members' name... thats a different matter.

I'd be a little bit unnerved by it, but luckily I'm the only person I've ever met with my name (supposedly it's a common name in my dad's home country though).

I've only met DOGS that have the same name as me, so I'll be impressed if I ever meet another Harvey let alone sleep with one.

Weird, but i doubt anyone will sleep with me that is similar, but the only name that is close to mine is nate. My name starts with a N and rhymes with anything -ash

I doubt I will ever hook up with an American who has the same name as me.. My name is usually more common amongst the English for some reason but with only one 'G' at the end

My name is Greg(ory), not Gregg.. lol although I suppose Craig would be weird as well for me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No doubt. It would make for a handshake, "nice meeting you," and adios.

As for my own, it has happened and it's usually prefaced with a chuckle. For anyone with a top 5 or 10 name in their year of birth, it may very well happen.

Apparently my name isn't even in the top 100 for my birth year (1997)

When I lived in AZ, I knew this gay couple where both guys were named 'Scott'. Everyone just called them 'Scott&Scott' (essentially all one word) or 'the boys'. My partner's name (Chris) is quite different from mine, but we get referred to (to our faces) as 'the boys'. Apparently this is part of the package if you are a gay male couple.

It felt like half the guys at my high school had the same first name as me, so this isn't outside the realms of possibility.

I guess for a casual hookup it wouldn't be too bad but it would be weird to date somebody with the same name.

I have a friend, Joel, who was in a relationship for 7+ years with another Joel. They were just known as Joel and Joel, or, as others have said, as "the boys."

I don't see it a problem, if you are both happy and in love then that's all that matters :icon_bigg

My partner has the same first name as me, and the same middle initial...so when we get married, we're keeping out last names, because then it would be really confusing, with both of having almost the exact same name! It felt kind of odd at first, but it's never ben a real problem, just kind of funny.

On one level, I feel like I can't afford to be picky... But I'm not sure I'd be happy with my hypothetical boyfriend having the same name, although it's mostly a function that I don't particularly like my name. Also I'd be less than happy with him having certain other names that remind me of certain other people.

However, having a "bad" name wouldn't be a deal breaker. I don't figure I can afford to be picky.

But it might be an opportunity to get creative with nick names...

A high school teacher had the same complaint with her name.

Actually, I don't think I've ever met in real life a dog named Harvey. There was, however, a hamster in my 4th grade class named Harvey!

We're the two Kens, with no Barbie.

Though we have an improved anatomy, compared to the dolls.
