It turns out that both the EDL and the BNP have LGBT divisions, apparently they seem to think that because Islam is homophobic we will all have sympathy for them. Seriously WTF
It is definitely a case of "All warfare is based on deception." All they aim to do is make us more sympathetic to their cause and to seed guilt within us, because they're willing to compromise for friendship while we aren't. It is possible that hardcore christians can love LGBT people, as I've seen it happen. But the FAR right wing? They know only hate, and the hate for Islam is stronger than hate for gays if only by a tiny bit.
The thing is, if the far right supported LGBT rights it's entirely possible they would get plenty of LGBT votes. But you can't tell someone that you don't want them to have equal rights but then still ask for their support, unless you're at a masochism convention or something.
^^Reminds me of Jim Carrey crapping on gun rights supporters then saying he loves them. People know he's trying to backtrack because he pissed off a huge chunk of his ticket-buying fanbase.
Islam isn't the enemy, the enemy is the ignorance of the right wing, to which many Muslims belong, but these anti-Islamic parties are basically an exact mirror of right-wing Muslim agitants. If these parties supported our rights, it would only be for as long as it takes to get a vote. And if you say that voter accountability will stop that, look at Queensland. A right-wing government that promised to bring about same-sex marriage has abolished civil unions and defended gay panic defence and an unequal age of consent for gay men.
They have tried this before by saying the GOP is a "big tent". You're fine if you remain in the closet area.
I'd sooner see BNP members starving in the streets than queer folks joining their ranks. They are fascists, and they deserve suppression. It's really cynical that they would try to play queer folks against the North African and Near East immigrant communities in such a racist way. Ziester Adrian
