that they could leave earth, find a habitable planet and start over with a group of, shall we say, enlightened people? I know this is an oddly specific desire, but I was wondering if anyone else shared it. I get so frustrated by most of the human species, by the damage we've done to the earth already, and by the controlling and violent nature of our governments. It would be nice to get away from that and start over. Anyone?
There are arseholes in this world and then their are nice people. You have to give the people on this planet a chance as there the only people we have. I have often felt like leaving Earth in the past but I can't. The only way to find happiness is to find the nice people and ignore the arseholes. Technology will in the future allow us to fix things like global warming. We are just in a period where Humanity is still finding it's feet we are a young species.
greedyness has eaten the world inside out ............. what can we do ? i think the answer is hope since is soo hard for 1 individual to change the world most times soo we can only hope X_X this is the reason im not a social person tooo much greedyness too much fake emotions too but in the end hope exists for those that believe ... even for those secluded in solitube X_X
not particularly. i like diversity, this place would be boring as hell if everyone were the same. and it'd be completely chaos if the government didn't have the laws that they do. i'm sure people get frustrated with you, just as you do with others.
I ALWAYS wish this. If I could create a floating city in the sky, I'd do just that. Wed be isolated from all the stupid<3
Now don't get me wrong. I believe strongly that as a society, we can only benefit from the inclusion and mingling of people from different backgrounds, communities, cultures, etc. For me the problem is when people use the premise of 'different opinions' to justify exclusion and discrimination. So I believe we as a society need to not only acknowledge the diversity of the human race by nature but ensure that we give equal ground to everyone regardless of background. But that in there lies the problem- It's impossible to expect true equality and an enlightened society capable of doing as said above overnight. So the desire to strike off, start a new society is there. /steps down from soapbox.
I've considered the possibility of commercially available faster-than-light starships and imagine that this would happen frequently. However, grand plans for a utopia in the sky will probably turn into crazy cult-lands. We already fight over national borders; how fiercely would people feel loyal to their group if they had an entire planet to themselves?
