I'm a vixen. Used to be really into wearing tails and ears around but that's tapered off.

 

I got less crap for wearing ears to school than I did for wearing girl's clothing.

"Public" essentially means anywhere on the site that isn't a PM.

The offsite contact rule is in place to protect the vulnerable members of the site (ex. minors) from online predators and people here for the wrong reasons. If we allow people to contact each other outside of EC, we cannot monitor their behaviour or watch for their safety. The Full Membership application allows the staff to get a sense of who is and isn't trustworthy based on their forum behaviour.

While the person you're talking to is likely not incredibly vulnerable nor are you trying to prey on him, the rules are standardized across the board to keep things fair. You don't have to agree with it, but you have to follow it.

You've mentioned you've had prior run-ins with other forum staff on other sites, and while I can sympathize, I do not (nor do the other staff here) take kindly to sarcasm or passive-aggressiveness when we're trying to do our jobs to maintain the security of the site.

 

I wouldn't call myself a furry, per se, but the idea of it interests me a lot. I have quite a few friends who are furries.

 

I'm aware; you mentioned it in your intro thread. I'm just identifying how that behaviour (whether you label it as sarcasm or not) isn't appropriate for a supportive atmosphere.

Anyways, I'd prefer we don't derail the thread with rules and semantics, as all I wanted to post was a reminder to not share offsite contact. If you have any concerns with the site policies. you're welcome to post in the Ask The Staff subforum or PM myself (regular members can send/receive PMs from staff).
