personally i go to a casino about twice a week and i honestly win way more often than i lose so i don't consider it a bad addiction at the point. i mostly play roulette, i love the thrill of it. i would never let it get out of control and i could never be with someone that blows their bank account at the casino. i mean sure, i've lost up to $500 in one night before. but i've also won over $1k on a few occasions. i love the thrill. what is everyone else's thoughts on gambling? would you date someone who regularly went to a casino?
I think it's a bad habit and althought it may not be an addiction at first like social smoking, it soons becomes very intense and you can't let go. In all honesty, I wouldn't date someone who gambled because 1) they most likely would hide it from me until something big happens and 2) if it does become serious and gay marriage is now legalized, what if my partner makes a stupid mistake and gambles everything and then I'm in trouble myself.
Gambling is fine as long as you have self control. I don't have self control when I gamble so I limit myself to lottery tickets only.
Agree with above I gamble now and then but I don't make a habit of it. I have self control when I know I am spending too much I will just stop.
so are you saying that just because someone occasionally goes to the casino, it'd be a deal-breaker? everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to like what they like, but just because someone occasionally gambles doesn't mean that they have a problem or that it will become a problem. my parents, for example, go to the casino about once a month just to spend a couple hundred bucks and have a good time. and they've been this way for decades, neither of them has a gambling problem by any means. so, would that type of situation still bother you?
I only buy a lottery ticket every now and then when I'm feeling lucky. That's about it. I don't have a problem with gambling unless it gets out of hand. Then it's a serious problem. Same goes for anything else.
You're pissed if you lose, and you're not happy when you win because you should have bet more. That's my ex-gambling-addict uncle's advice.
I've never gambled before but its something I would like to try. It sounds fun. No harm if its done in moderation
