This is mainly set to uk users as i don't know what other countries do. The government is set to make ISP's as default to filter block all porn unless it is opted out by the customer. This for someone like me is not a problem as a gay father with a gay son i can just turn off filters. But how does this affect the under 18s that are not out to the bill payers. I know we do need to do something about child pornography but that's a different story. How much to teens use porn to try & work out what sexuality they are??.

I was under the impression that they've decided that isn't the best way around it and are now lobbying the internet companies to automatically block heinous search terms for child/otherwise illegal pornography?

Setting filters as default is just daft, as there are so many easy ways around it.

Wait... the Tories are in power, so when did the Tories become advocates for big governments?

This is stupid. Porn is porn and it's not degrading to watch in anyway (unless if it's child porn) nor is it illegal. It's a liberty. I don't know why Cameron and Clegg is doing this.

Thats a little narrow minded, don't you think? There are ethical issues with some of it, certainly, but that doesn't apply to all of porn. And regardless, they aren't doing it to protect the actors. They're doing it for the same reason they censor sex scenes, sexual language and sometimes even kisses before the watershed: because of a misguided belief that people need to be protected from becoming corrupted by this evil sex.

I don't watch porn anymore. However this is awful. Firstly it's reducing our freedom and meaning to watch porn you have to risk signing your name on some sort of black list. Can you imagine ringing up your isp. "Yea can you unblock porn please". Do you see how they talk about child porn with this as if there similar issues to distract from there really purpose which is to censor the internet like china. When legal porn is a legimate industry which only teaches teenagers about sex. If I saw porn at the age of 3 ,would I have become a murder, tried to do it with fellow 3 year olds. No I would have laughed and it wouldn't have effected me at all (probably thought they were fighting). If parents don't want there children to watch porn then there is software out there to stop them watching porn. Apparently David Cameron wants to save children innocence. Children aren't innocence they bully each other and are very annoying. And how does porn make someone "guility". Where else will teenagers learn how to actually have sex will teachers show them (I certainity hope not).

gibson234: You support porn as sex education? But... it's fake. It's not educational, and it's not designed to be educational either. It's staged. It's unrealistic.

In this country, comprehensive sex education classes are mandatory and the age of consent is 16. People do fine at having sex, and they don't need porn to teach them.
