Default Semantics

Sooo....random question for everyone:

Which term is technically correct, or are both acceptable to you? "GLBT" or "LGBT"? Or some other variation?

I've always heard "GLBT" but more and more I'm hearing "LGBT". I know it doesn't technically matter but I'm curious lol.

I use LGBT, I personally think it rolls off the tongue more easily

I can't see that it makes any difference what order the letters are in as long as you don't forget the G and end up with a BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich!)

I've had a friend once say "You're part of that BLT community aren't you?"

I use, and have seen most widely used, LGBT. But I guess it doesn't really matter. Either's fine.

Way back in college, it was LGB which became LGBT my sophmore year. It was the "LGBT Student Union", or LGBTSU, so we actually called it "ligibitsu".

Well. I used to say GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning) because it's a title of a book that I used religiously when I was first finding out about sexuality. But lately I've been using LGBT.

I use LGBT.

But only because I'm maaaaajorly gender biased lol. I always put girls first.

From a non-biased perspective, however, I don't think it matters. It means exactly. the. same. thing.
