7 minutes. Death or reality?

I'm not sure how people can claim to know what you're thinking about after you've died... but it's a nice question from a philosophical point of view.

 

usualy it would be like a flashback soo if u can think and act as u please that means ur alive or soo i think 0_0

 

Ah boy, I'd hate to have to watch my life over. Still, its an interesting thought.

 

I know I'm not reliving old memories because these things haven't happened to me before.

 

Metaphysics is an endless swamp of doubt and madness. Hod do you know other people exist and you are not computer program or a brain in a jar or some being floating in a space alone? What is real? There is no way to tell.

 

Wait, so even suicide doesn't help if you're trying to escape your thoughts? Damn.

I don't believe that. I haven't seen any proof.

Hmm.. What if after the "7 minutes" you just repeat it over and over again until you are gone? Because you get to the "7 minutes" point again... Horrifying.

 

Anyway, I'd imagine if I were currently reliving my life, I'd know what is going to happen next.

 

Let say you live to 80. Your neurons work at 200hz. Meaning that even if you could conscience experience the smallest time frame your neurons can process in 7 minutes you life would go 8.3 minutes at a time. As I can experience seconds at a time, I'm not dead and seeing my life again.

 

I honestly don't think any of us on this planet will know until we die...

 

Could reliving your memories just reliving the important moments and not the simple things.

If you did commit suicide that would the last moment of your life, before reliving your memories. So when you die, that would be the end of the reliving moment of your memories in your life, before you died.

Well, we'd know if it was the case, because if we would still there be for 7 minutes, we'd know that we're dead..

For exemple, when someone dies of old age and they don't die during their sleep (they are awake when they die). They know they are dying, they feel it. So if they are still there after they die, for 7 minutes, they would remember that they just died, so they'd know that those are just memories.

So, if you don't remember dying, you're not dead.

If you're dead, you're dead. You're still alive until all brain activity has ceased, IMO. So you're not dead.

 

In dreams time is the same as real life. This isn't Inception.

 

I think I'm dead all the time (coping mechanism) so I guess I hope that's the case with me.

Still, I didn't know about the 7 moinutes thing. That's fucking terrifying.

Well nobody really knows about that. The dead don't speak during those 7 minutes! So how could we know? Maybe they can know that the brain is still active but they can't see what's happening in there..
