Default Should you have to learn your national anthem?

What do you think? I myself know God save the queen quite well, some lines i just mumble the words but yeah, on the whole not bad. Do you know your national anthem and do you think that you should have to learn it?

Even if it seems a bit nationalistic i think that you should learn it... but as far as i've heard that they pledge the flag and sing the US national anthem every day or week is that is a bit too much..

All rise for the anthem of the United States of Europe!

Europe is united now
United it may remain;
Our unity in diversity
May contribute to world peace.

May there forever reign in Europe
Faith and justice
And freedom for its people
In a greater motherland

Citizens, Europe shall flourish,
A great task calls on you.
Golden stars in the sky are
The symbols that shall unite us.

we say the pledge of allegiance weekly in school.
and we usually only sing the national anthem before sporting events.

its not too much.
but however crappy my country has been over the past 8 years, ive got enough pride to do that every week...

Yep and the lyrics are in Latin - The founding language of Europe. I think its awesome

5 more years and we will be the United States of Europe

Est Europa nunc unita
et unita maneat;
una in diversitate
pacem mundi augeat.

Semper regant in Europa
fides et iustitia
et libertas populorum
in maiore patria.

Cives, floreat Europa,
opus magnum vocat vos.
Stellae signa sunt in caelo
aureae, quae iungant nos.

so far as im aware its not official, though i could be wrong. but wasnt that the big problem with the EU constitution/Lisbon treaty, and they had to scrap the anthem/motto, etc to get the thing through.

i dont think we will. britains trade relies to heavily upon the Euro area - our economy wouldnt cope if we had to share a currency and couldnt benefit from the exchange rate.

i dont know anymore than the first line. i know the american one (cus i went there on a trip) and i like it more - because it talks of the struggles of the war for independence and the sacrifices to get to that point.

i cant stand ours - monarchism....

And whats wrong with the lyrics? Personally I think its great that they chose latin to be the language for it. I doubt other european countries would be happy if one language was chosen over another.

I think the anthem is outdated. The queen has no power. She's a tourist attraction nowadays.

Anyone who said no really needs to get a sense of nationalism.

Of course you should learn your anthem!

This of course coming from a canadian who has a pretty awesome anthem!

I voted no, because if you live in America, it's kind of hard not to know the Star-Spangled Banner
People just know it

I think it should stay the way it is. For traditons sake. Besides, im sure she does still have power, but she stays neutral in all matters.

No.
I don't think you should have to learn your national anthem.
I don't know mine, just a few lines.
I don't think it's important, and I don't like it anyway.
