Almost got caught!

    Figured I'd share, because I thought this was hilarious.

    Ordered a dildo and lube last week from Amazon. I received the lube last week, and just received the dildo today from the mail. Problem? My sister is the one who answered the door, and rather than being in a box (like the lube was in), the dildo was in one of those brown paper envelope with bubble wrap inside, with the dildo being covered only by a thin plastic wrap. If she had held the envelope just a bit higher as she handed it to me, she would've clearly noticed the shape of the dildo, but luckily for me she was holding it from the base so you couldn't exactly make out the shape from it alone.

    Curious as she is, she handed it to me and asked "What is it?", so I pulled my best act. I put the envelop on my desk like it was nothing, answered "Just some computer part I ordered." (I used to work as in IT), and returned to my business. Noticing that I wasn't going to open the envelope and that she has no interest in computers anyway, she left the room.

    Now the dildo is well-hidden in a box somewhere in my room waiting to be used. :lol:

    Just as a side note, she knows that I'm gay (pretty sure my whole family knows as well), but since my family doesn't exactly see me as a very "sexual" person (if only they knew :badgrin:slight_smile:, it's not exactly the first thing that comes to mind. I just...don't need them to know my personal... business. :lol:

    Wow! Talk about packaging disasters! I've ordered a few toys, though luckily, they've always come in nondescript boxes.

    Good thing she didn't drop it...might have bounced.

    Yes, that's what I thought as well. The envelop had no specific description so it was fine in of itself, but the content could more or less be easily distinguished by just touching around. I don't exactly intend to order another dildo for a good while, but I'm probably not going to be ordering from the same company on Amazon. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    That was a close one :eek:

    If only there were adult novelty stores around. You could just go there, make your purchase, and bring it to your house discreetly. Doing so would avoid family members from answering the door - if buying stuff online - and potentially finding out what you bought.

    I guess when purchasing stuff online, you have to be super vigilant so that you're the one who gets to the door first :lol:

    There is actually one nearby, but there wasn't a lot of dildos to choose from, and the prices were really high. At least with ordering online I can pretty much find whatever I want, and at a decent price.

    I think if you go to your order page on amazon, there's a way to give packaging feedback, and my impression is they constantly read it and adjust their packaging. This would be good input for them to hear.

    When I bought a fleshlight, it came in this huge box, and my mom asked what was in the box sitting in front of the door. I told her I'd bought a few DVD's, and somehow, she bought it.
