Celebrities against gays?

Orson Scott Card. He's not really a "celebrity" per se, but Ender's Game will be coming out soon and has catapulted him to more fame. He's hardcore anti-gay. >.<

 

I don't know any. It's not really in the best interest of a celebrity to be anti-gay. It's bad for their image and I'm sure that even if deep down they didn't agree with it, they sure don't publicize it.

As much as I don't want to say it, lately I feel like being pro-gay has become some sort of trend. Like more and more celebrities speaking out about it, more shows coming out with gay characters. It never used to be like this and it's like if you're good with the LGBT community, you gain popularity. Anyone else feel this way?

Carrie Prejean is the first person to come to my mind. There's Paris Hilton who thinks all gay guys have AIDs and Laura Schlesinger who calls homosexuality an error.

 

Tracy Morgan went on a homophobic rant a couple of years ago. Though he's apologized since then, and it's hard to judge if he was really homophobic or just failing at being edgy.

I was once listening to her and I think, on that afternoon segment, she used the words 'wires crossed,' or something like that. So, yes, an error or malfunction of some kind.

The one that comes to mind is Mel Gibson. He really spewed a lot of vitriol. In one interview, he reportedly pointed to his hind side and made some really crass comment about its only use. I guess he doesn't understand that guys can be gay or bi, and not use that part of their bodies in their sexual repertoires. I don't watch those shows following the stars that often, but when his yelling on the phone was aired, I listened in and it was pretty wicked.

I forgot about Donna Summer. If that's true about her, she was biting the hand that fed her, to a large extent.

I just looked at the linked list. It points to the notion that people we think are cool aren't always cool, and those we think we might be condescending and judgmental aren't.

 

Mel Gibson is also a racist scumbag. A friend of mine had the unlucky courtesy of meeting him on set while playing as an extra for the film 'Gallipoli'. Utter elitist swine he was - didn't let anyone from the extras cast speak with more significant actors while he was around and slung racial slurs at everybody.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dick hated non-straight people as well. He's got a record for bigotry.

 

That was one instance that was taken out of context, actually. Paris has zero issue with the LGBT community. She was making a joke (in bad taste, though), and it was taken out of context.

 

I doubt that this will come as a surprise to anyone, but Chuck Norris has said some pretty damn homophobic things.

 

Yeah, she was just being a dim bulb. It was in bad taste and sounded downright stupid.

 

Jeremy Irons has said some awfully homophobic things. And alongside Orson Scott Card, Brett Easton Ellis is another homophobic writer.

 

Yeah she really isn't anti-gay, but she kind of just sees us as accessories for her to take to the mall :dry:

It's kind of bad for celebrities to be anti-gay anyway. It ruins their image and brings them bad publicity.

I think Eminem is, not sure though. That's just from what iv'e been told and some of his old lyrics do also represent it

Don't know if it counts, but i heard the guys off Top Gear(JamesMay to be exact) is a supporter of UKIP. And he did put UKIP stickers on a car on the show.
In case anyone doesn't know UKIP is a British political group. Who are against immigration, are racist and homophobic.
So i'm not sure if that counts but i love Top Gear so it disappointed me a little
