My high school orientation is today. I think I'm going to be showed around the school and be told everything I need to know about the school. I'm pretty excited that I start high school in 6 days. Does anybody else have any orientations for a new school soon or had any orientations for a new school?
Freshmen year of high school...we won't tell you what goes on. Just have fun and be prepared for anything.
I'm about to be a senior!. yay! don't worry, high school.....it's better than middle school. Trust me. It's just more annoying and when you're a senior like me, you'll be like ... "Freshman, Can't wait..." you'll be at the top of the food chain and just look at it this way, You'll be making more friends, you'll lose some but you'll gain some friendships and plenty of awesome memories
High school orientation was pretty fun for me (becoming a high school sophomore next week) We learned how to navigate ourselves the hard way. My school had a scavenger hunt for the purpose of getting to know my school. It was like," #1. Retrieve Biology workbook at E214. #2. Retrieve a whisk from L312." It was to help us understand what building taught which subject and where the classrooms are. Also, our motivation was, if you don't finish in time, there's going to be a long line for lunch (we get about 700-800 new kids a year so we had to hurry). At my school orientation, the school's dance team, marching band, colorguard, etc performed for us and we got to experience what clubs we could join. Everyone is much more mature so when you come out, most likely, people would take it a bit more easily. Overall, it was pretty fun for me.
Yes, I had an orientation for both high school and my university. The high school one was forgettable - it was just a tour - but the one at my university is still vivid to me. My college held a dance competition at a party. There weren't that many great dancers, but one guy - who is now a friend of mine - started to do break dancing tricks like windmills and flaring. He was a big guy too (like panda-ish), yet he was able to do all of those moves well. So many people cheered for him, and I was cheering so loudly too, haha. It was one of the few moments at my college that I won't forget =)
All mine did was give you a map, a planner and a class T-shit with a little rally to inform us what our school standards were and that was it. Don't be afraid. High school is a fun time, and trust me, enjoy it while it lasts.
My orientation is the day after tomorrow. I'm nervous. They do them in groups since it's a huge school with tons of students, and so I'll only see L-M last name freshmen at orientation. Still nervous. Our school hates freshmen so much! Good news is I'm gonna be joining the GSA, finally have opportunities to be a gay rights activist, make some gay friends, and maybe meet a girl. Yay. If anyone is in a GSA, can you tell me what it's like? I'm curious.
Lmao when I read "high school orientation" I immediately thought that it was a day where everyone proclaims what their sexual orientation is. I don't think they have those... I've done a high school orientation before. It will be the easiest thing about high school you'll ever do probably. The hardest thing after that is navigating where the stairwells and classrooms are at.
My freshman year of high school was actually a lot of fun. Considering this thread is from August, maybe Person can inform us of how it's going for him.
