Dogs being shot By cops

Poor doggies... That depresses me.

 

Oh my God, this is horrible.

 

Do you know what happens to civilians after they shoot a police dog?

Yeah...

 

A man here had to put his dog that was half wolf to sleep after a cop shot it. The cop was chasing someone on foot. They just happened to cross the dog's yard. Naturally the dog saw it as a threat to his territory and growled and came at the cop. He shot it in the face. The owner spent over a thousand dollars trying to save the dog.

Well I haven't seen the videos you are talking about, so I can't comment on them.

However when I was a kid I saw the sheriff shoot a dog. The dog was being very agressive and had already attacked a couple of kids. Thankfully they were not seriously injured. We lived out in the country and the country did not have animal control, so I headed home to get my gun. About the time I got back the sheriff showed up. He watched the dog for a while and agreed with us that it was just too dangerous to try and capture it.

My though on the matter is sometimes it is necessary and without knowing the facts of the case can't really say if the cop was in the right or the wrong.

If cops have a good reason to arrest a person but the dog seriously obstructs them in doing so... fucking shoot it. I'd rather see a dead dog than a dangerous criminal out on the streets.

If they don't have a good reason its obviously bad.

 

God, that's absolutely disgusting, I'm a huge dog lover, and I just can't stand it when I hear things like this. If you're gonna put a dog down, you better have a fucking good reason, but just shooting at them as if they're walking targets at a shooting range is cruel and stupid. Ugh, I swear, cops really piss me off :tantrum:

 

Cops do need more discipline training. I've known several who just slide along and have no respect for the law or other people. Not all are bad, but a lot of them just think they're above the law. In my state 3 cops were arrested for conspiracy to kill several other officers, so I'd say there needs to be more psychological screening and disciplinary training.

the taser would most likely kill the dog as well since it is designed to be used on humans.

I've seen some pretty questionable videos of police shooting dogs, but I've never seen a cop simply walk up to a dog, place it on the ground and shoot it in the head. That's just pure animal cruelty. They should get some sort of major penalty for that.
